Dinosaur Sculpture

Kenneth's Dinosaur Sculpture

While I was trying to post this, I initially wrote lizard sculpture, then I called Kenneth to explain his artwork as I usually do when I post their artworks. He then explained it was a dinosaur, not T-rex though, he cautioned.

Pastel Art to Puzzle Art

Keziah brings Oil Pastel art to a Puzzle art. She draws in oil pastel then cuts up her drawing into several pieces to make a puzzle. It seems easy to make the puzzle but it isn't! I think it took me 3 minutes to figure it out.

Below is the video of how she lines up the several cut pieces of her oil pastel drawing to reveal her art. Reza (Keziah's Mom) previously was bewildered why would she cut up her artwork because we usually scan her drawings so we can blog about it. She apparently have a different idea from what we usually do. And much to her mom's surprise, she actually enjoyed doing the puzzle because it was not that easy to solve!

Not to be outdone

Keziah's younger brother, Kenneth is also a budding artist but his media is different, he likes sculpting.

And his favorite sculpting material? Blu Tack.

Yup this adhesive material is a great modelling material , it doesn’t dry out and a perfect material for sculpting small objects. Well, that's because he has small hands, he's only 6 yrs old. but this Blu Tack material is always on his hand, even when he sleeps.

Its amazing how the imagination of a kid transforms a simple material to an artwork. he has done so many sculptures that I now intend to blog about it in a separate blog, a blog of his own. For the meantime, he shares this sculptures with his sister.

Winged Sandman (Sandman from the Spiderman movie)

Serpent Dragon (from so many Dragon movies)

The Rat (from the Ratatouille movie)

The Lion (from the movie "Narnia")

Boat Collage

These days, Keziah is busy cutting away with her scissors and art papers which was left of what they have used in school projects. Days after their school projects has been finished, she is still making collage by herself. And the above (scanned) boat collage is just one of her artworks.

She says this boat is travelling under a typhoon, complete with lightning and thunder. There are big waves that splashes on the boat and a man riding the boat.

Life in Bloom

Might as well post one of Keziah's best works to date as the first image post. Titled "Life in Bloom" and showcased at Alabang Filinvest's Treasure Trove on June 23, 2007, media is oil paint.

Prior to this painting, we enrolled her in an 8 sessions of basic painting, she started with pencil shadings, pastel color combination and eventually oil painting. She really enjoyed her summer vacation because aside from the art course, she gets to go to the mall regularly, eat at jolibee or mcdonalds and go window shopping!

Keziah's Art Attack

This blog is about my daughter Keziah Mendoza who loves to paint and cut anything to make a collage. She makes artworks everyday just for fun.

I think she will be a well known artist someday. She's a good artist now even at 8 years old, she has a lot of ideas and never fails to amaze me. When she was two years old, she was able to draw stick figures, by then I just know that she loves art.

I'll be posting old and new artworks by keziah here, so come back and take a look.
